Choreographer and dancer Tchekpo Dan Agbetou, is known for its combination of classical ballet, modern dance and elements of African dance rituals. In 2006 he organized the first African Modern Dance Festival, Biennale DansArt Passages. The festival, unique in Germany, received the "Star of the year" award by the regional culture press.
